Retroperitoneal Robotic Partial Nephrectomy

This unique one day training course combines live surgery Robotic-assisted Retroperitoneal Partial Nephrectomy procedures with intraoperative ultrasound imaging and 3D vascular imaging. Live audio-visual feeds from theatre will transmit the surgical cases directly to the seminar room with two way interaction.

  • Develop your ultrasound technique and operative protocol
  • Understand the value of preoperative surgical planning with Ultrasound, CT imaging, Doppler and 3D/ICG vascular mapping to determine the optimal approach for nephron sparing surgery
  • Understand the techniques of real-time intraoperative ultrasound imaging of the kidney to identify an endophytic tumour or mark the margins of a tumour prior to resection
  • Understand the differences between transperitoneal and retroperitoneal
  • What does Computer vision and AI offer in robotic surgery

The ‘Tips and Tricks’ presentation offers an insight into the challenges frequently encountered with suggestions and solutions to overcome problems.

This course delivers a complete 360 degree overview from a highly experienced team of professionals. The course is aimed at Consultants wishing to develop their expertise and improve surgical outcomes with their use of intraoperative Ultrasound and 3D imaging  during Robotic assisted Retroperitoneal Partial Nephrectomy.

Planning your journey to the Royal Free Hospital:

Underground

The nearest station to the Royal Free Hospital is Belsize Park station, on the Northern Line. The walk from Belsize Park station to the Royal Free Hospital takes seven minutes.

Train

Hampstead Heath station is very near to the hospital and is on the London Overground network. The station accepts Oyster cards.

Bus

There are lots of buses that pass by the Royal Free Hospital. Bus routes 24, 46, 168, 268 and C11 all serve the hospital.

Car Parking

These are situated in the multi-storey car park near to the Main Entrance, the North Car Park and by the East Entrance.

The multi-storey car park and the North Car Park are both accessible via Sevenoacks Road off Southampton Road (A27). The car parking spaces near the East Entrance are accessible via Southwick Hill Road
